Mizuki Make-up Line
For this project I created branding for a fictional makeup line named Mizuki, inspired by Japanese and Korean beauty products. Mizuki has a few meanings in Kanji, but in this case, it is meant to mean beautiful moon. I created three different products, with youthful and fun packaging in mind. I started with the 2D designs and then created 3D models of the bottles and packaging to bring the designs to life.

Moonbeam Highlighter
Packaging Concepts
This product came to my mind after looking at my thumbnails
and combining some ideas that I liked. I used the container from one thumbnail and the lid and top of another to come up with
this look. Based on that, I created a moon based theme for the
product and packaging.

For the box design, I wanted to keep up with the heart theme, so I made a heart cut out to add a little flair to the generic box. I used my influence from Korean cosmetics to come up with the natural aspects of the product and present it in a visually appealing way.

Sweetheart Lip Tint
Packaging Concepts
For this product, I started with the container design. I liked how
it looked and the shape. I wanted to make it so it fit with the style of the other products so I added a heart topper. Originally I wanted it to be liquid eyeshadow, but I realized that the
theme and the colors would lend better to a lip tint instead.

I wanted to change up the bottle shape from a classic tube that most brands have, to a tapered design with a fun lid and themed packaging. Usually the design of the wand is the focus.

I decided to have the box be attached to a cardboard backing. Many mascaras on the market seem to do this to show off the unique aspects of their product.

For the mascara box, I had to create a uniquely shaped box that would accommodate for the shape of the bottle. I wanted to keep the box packing very fun and to fit with the rest of the theme.

3D Renders of Products
I created my 3D models in Maya and then brought in some of the graphics for the packing I created in the form of UV maps. I added textures and materials to create pieces that looks photo realistic.
